Waterford Distillery Tasting

Waterford Distillery was set up in 2015 in heart of Waterford city and quickly became synonymous for their Terroir approach to whisk(e)y, which explores taste of Ireland "one farm, one place, at the time".

We have had a few requests from some of our farmers and friends here to organise a visit from Waterford distillery to the town so that we may sample some of their excellent new whisky and to let them tell us just what they are doing differently to the other distilleries on the island.

Mark Reynier is synonymous with re-opening Bruichladdich distillery on Islay in 2001 and is working his magic with his new Waterford distillery. Having been a fan of Bruichladdich distillery and all of their whiskies for many years now, and having been lucky enough to visit both distilleries, I can promise that this tasting will prove to be one of the most exciting and interesting events that we have had here.

We are delighted to announce our April IWS Dingle tasting with Waterford Distillery featuring some of their Terroir expressions and some special samples selected especially for the Society members to enjoy in Dingle. This event will take place on Friday April 01 at 7.30 pm and will be presented by the Head Distiller Ned Gahan. Ned previously worked in the brewery prior to its close and was brought back on board when it reopened as a distillery.

Transport:
There will be a bus provided to take attendees out to this tasting and back to the town. The bus will leave John Benny’s Pub Map Link (Opposite the Tourist Office) at 7pm and will leave Tig Bhric at 10.15 to return.

Tig Bhric:
Beoir Chorca Dhuibhne (West Kerry Brewery) situated in the mature gardens of Tig Bhric brewpub, prides itself in combining water drawn from 150ft below the brewery, predominantly Irish malted barley, whole hops and fresh yeast.

Over 100 years in business within the same family. With a large feature open fire place and bog wood mantle from a nearby beach. Art works throughout the building - sculptures, drawings, paintings and stained glass.

All the beers are produced in low volume with emphasis given to both Tradition and Progression. With a growing number of beers within the portfolio which includes the Renegade Series, Limited Collectors Edition and the Riasc Range , named after the town-land of our location. These are seasonal beers where we add both local and garden botanical.
