Tasting: Islands of Scotland
7:30-9:30pm, Thursday, January 28th
Brooks Hotel, Drury Street, Dublin 2
Island whiskies are those produced off the mainland of Scotland. The islands (and distilleries) are Arran (Isle of Arran), Jura (Isle of Jura), Mull (Tobermory), Orkney (Highland Park, Scapa) and Skye (Talisker). They are considered part of the Highland region and don't include Islay, which is a whisky-producing region in its own right.
Entry is €15 for members. For convenience, we are adding the price of membership (€50) to the ticket price.
Entry is €22.50 for non-members.
Please reserve AND PAY for your place at BookWhen.
Tasting: Irish Whiskey 101
7:30-9:30pm, Thursday, February 25th
Brooks Hotel, Drury Street, Dublin 2
This tasting is an ideal starting point for an exploration of Irish whiskey. We will sample a range of standard Irish whiskeys while learning about the variations in the manufacturing process that make them different. For seasoned whiskey drinkers there is the added challenge of tasting the whiskeys blind. How well do you really know the Irish standards?
Entry is €10 for members, €15 for non-members.
Please reserve and pay for your place in advance on our booking page.
Tasting: Pure Pot Still with Barry Crockett
7-9pm, Thursday, March 25th
Brooks Hotel, Drury Street, Dublin 2
The traditional Pure Pot Still style of whiskey is no longer made anywhere except at Irish Distillers' Midleton distillery. IDL's Redbreast and Mitchells' Green Spot (along with the occasional limited bottling) are the last hold-outs from the golden age of PPS.
Nobody knows more about this style than Barry Crockett, Master Distiller at Midleton, so we are delighted that he will guide us in a pure Irish tasting the week after St Patrick's Day.
Please note the EARLIER starting time of 7pm.
Entrance is €15 for members, €22.50 for non-members.
Reservation and payment in advance is required on our booking page.
